- M.T.H. Electric Trains and New Yorks Metropolitan Transportation
Authority have joined forces for the second year in a row to bring the
unique fun and excitement of model railroading to Grand Central Terminal.

As one of the worlds
leading manufacturers of electric toy trains, M.T.H. has created a 28
foot long operating O Gauge model railroad with an urban theme that is
sure to bring back memories of yesteryear for every New Yorker who visits
the MTA Transit Museum Store inside Grand Central Terminal.

Open from November
26th through January 3rd, the display features four different operating
trains meandering through two distinct halves of the layout, each full
of lighted buildings, operating accessories, realistic scenery and hundreds
of miniature figures. Framed by a backdrop of MTA art and holiday décor
are bridges and train tunnels carrying two different trains back and forth
across a river. In addition, two local lines circumvent each half of the
layout including a subway line with a cutaway view of its underground
station as well as a Brooklyn trolley line. Every locomotive is equipped
with digital sound created from real-life locomotives for an added touch
of realism sure to bring smiles to the faces of all who visit the display.

Automated control
over each train is handled with M.T.H.s Digital Command System or
DCS. The regular starting and stopping of trains, tooting of whistles
and ringing of bells gives visitors a unique glimpse at the power of model
railroading with M.T.H. Electric Trains.
